Roaring to Life
At the back of Walking Street just up from Bali Hai Pier is one of Pattaya’s most fun filled activities, Go Karting brought to you by the guys that are responsible for Bira Racing Circuit.
There are two tracks 350 metres for kids and beginners and 750 metres for adults and drivers a notch up from beginner, and both tracks can be combined for special events.
As a leisure activity Go Karting is for almost all ages and in truth even beginners will not encounter anything they can’t handle on either track. The Karts also come in two categories with 160cc for beginners and 270cc for serious petrol heads. They are imported from France and along with the superior technical design of the track offer some of the best Go Kart racing to found in the world.
Once on the track you will be timed by special computerised time system so that no one can argue about who is the fastest and when your race is complete you will receive a print out of race results including lap times and fastest lap, etc.
For our visit we teamed up with some other beginners and after a quick briefing of push the accelerator to go and hit the brake to stop we were flying off around the 750 metre track in 170cc Karts. The two males in the group including myself are clinically obese but that didn’t pose any problem for the smaller engine karts and we were soon giving it full pedal to metal and in our minds tearing up the circuit.
An absolute top end buzz which has to be tried to appreciated and even the ladies who we passed several times as they meandered around the circuit were visibly glowing with adrenaline come the chequered flag.
Then up to the panoramic restaurant and bar area overlooking the track to collect some well earned refreshments and the results of our race. An emphatic win for me of about 2 hundredths of a second gave me the chance to annoy everyone for the rest of Sunday afternoon and evening until I was drunk enough to admit I had actually been in a Go Kart before, a few times.
Anyway what we all agreed on was that Go Karting is absolutely terrific fun and whether you turn up as a lone racer or are planning any kind of corporate event then the guys at EasyKart are as professional and courteous as you will find.
Plus the spacious restaurant and bar area offer a great chance to watch others racing and with a huge TV for sporting events you can sit and relax until 1am every night with even later opening for major live sports programmes.
